This is a great visual reminder of the benefits of walking. Last year when I got nerve damage after shingles I was devastated that I couldn't run anymore. At that time I was moving around with the help of a walker, and we didn't even know if I would walk for exercise again. It took 8 months to get up to walking around the block, and a total of 14 months later I am now up to walking just under a mile at a time. I LOVE walking! I've tried a bit of jogging, but it is still too much for me. Each time I go out walking, though, I feel stronger and closer to my goal of being able to walk a mile at a time. Walking is definitely not a exercise to snub your nose at, though I wouldn't have thought so before. Thanks for this EXCELLENT list of benefits!
Yes, walking is a great exercise, and less strenuous too, so I prefer it than jogging. It strengthens the heart and lungs and helps us stay fit while improving our cardiovascular system. It's effective on burning calories, especially the nordic pole type of walking.
Writing is my passion and I love when my visitors respond with a

inspiration? It just doesn't get any better than that.
